The
Neopolitan Mastiff- An Ancient Breed, rediscovered in Italy in the
1940s, the Neapolitan Mastiff is a heavy-boned, massive, awe
inspiring dog bred for defending his owner and property.
The
Neo is steady and loyal to his owner, not aggressive,
a loving family dog. As a protector of his owner and property, he
is always watchful and does not relish intrusion by strangers into
his personal space. The breed is often characterized as a couch
potato. Sleep for this dog is first on its list.
The
Coat is short, dense and of uniform length and smoothness all over
the body. The Neopolitan has solid coats of gray (Blue), black or
Tawny. Tawny is sometimes described as Mahogany or Chocolate.
Height
of a Male is 26 to 31 inches with weight ranging from 150 to200
pounds. The Female height is 24 to 29 inches with a weight range
of 110 to 150 pounds.
Our
Female (Messa) has a coat of Tawny while Max has a coat of Gray
(Blue). We raise our dogs in a loving environment and they are treated
as part of the family. The massive size of the dog may have you
wondering if they can be housedogs. Like I said before- Couch
Potato.
Our
puppies are given their first shots and have their tales docked
to standard. Some Neo owners have their dogs ears cropped although
were prefer our dogs with the full-grown ear.
Messa is expecting. If interested please contact
Chris for information.
