Homemade
soups & sandwiches. Fresh Michigan fruit pies made here
at Crane's. Apple cider all year. Served in antique atmosphere.
Fresh Michigan fruit in season. Open all year. Less than 5 miles
east of I-96 exit 34.
The Pie Pantry is located in the back of a barn
on Crane's working fruit farm. It seats about 80 people and
its décor is of museum quality with antiques and memorabilia
in every nook and cranny.
The
Pie Pantry has one of the most unique collections of antiques
anywhere. But that is only one of the reasons it is worth the
trip. The food is homemade right in our kitchen, situated above
your head in what once was the hayloft. All the breads and buns
for our sandwiches are made fresh every day. The pie crusts
are made from a secret recipe and are rolled and crimped by
a dedicated crew of pie makers, led by the Crane women.
The Pie Pantry still serves the original chili
and sloppy joes that has been the restaurant's mainstay since
its inception. No sodas are offered. Fresh apple cider is the
main drink. $1 a glass gets you all you can drink or you can
buy it by the gallon for $4.00. The dessert menu offers over
15 different fruit desserts. No one ever leaves hungry!
