"Vocalist, songwriter, and fine arts painter Yvonne Blasy is in love with music, art, and the creative process. She began training in classical piano and voice at the age of six. Involved in choral and solo work in her early years, she also took up the guitar and folk music in the 60’s, being greatly influenced by the folk revival of that time. She then performed at venues while serving in the US Air Force, and sang with her mentor and sister-in-law with a mariachi group in Phoenix, Arizona.

Yvonne's commitment to music has remained with her throughout her life, resulting in a repertoire of her own original compositions influenced by many genres including old style cowboy songs, show tunes, spirituals, folk, new age, and world music Yvonne performs at fund-raisers, festivals, funerals, retreats, religious ceremonies, retirement homes, weddings, and wineries, or wherever there is opportunity to share music. She regularly leads the music for worship at interfaith services at the Lakeshore Interfaith Institute at Mother's Trust Mother's Place in Ganges, MI. http://www.motherstrust.org/ or http://www.motherstrust.org/coffeeblasy3-19-06.htm .

She also has a keen interest in the influences of music and the fine arts on health and wellbeing. As a Creativity Path Guide, she holds workshops and study groups for those interested in developing their creativity, in particular through art as healing and traditional art instruction. She enjoys giving presentations about the creative process, combining them with her music and art.
